Demonstration of a Christmas Wreath by Imogen Sawyer from Lane End Cottage Gardens website: laneendcottagegardens.co.uk Date: Tuesday 21st November 2017 Time: 8pm Location: Ashton Hayes Primary School   Update: Imogen showed the meeting how to build a Christmas wreath using foliage from her own garden. Coach Trip to Plas Cadnant, Menai Tuesday 18th July 2017 Update: Our visit to Plas Cadnant was a great success. It is a beautiful garden and the weather was dry and sunny making it a lovely day all round. Here are some photographs taken on the day. If you have any you wish to add your own please email them over to Linda:     A historic garden under restoration, situated between Menai Bridge and Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey. In 1996, the present owner bought the 200 acre Plas Cadnant Estate and work began on the restoration of the historic garden and grounds. Since then large parts of the gardens have undergone a spectacular transformation and have been restored to their former glory. Described as one of North Wales best kept secrets is the hidden world of Plas Cadnant Gardens, situated at the side of the Menai Strait, hidden from view near to Menai Bridge on the Isle of Anglesey. Former owners of Plas Cadnant were related to the Tremayne family of Heligan House, now famous for its Lost Gardens. June Event

Local Garden Visits and Social Evening Date: Tuesday 20th June 2017 Update: The evening was very well attended with lots of visitors to the gardens and the social event was a great success with great raffle prizes. As an extra bonus the sun shone throughout. Here are a few photographs of the gardens with more to come shortly first is Lesley and Richard Groves lovely garden at Brook Cottage: Linda Peppin’s garden at Dove Cottage: Photographs of Diane and John’s garden at Bramble Cottage and the Allotments will be published soon.   Allotments and gardens will be open from 6.30pm and drinks and nibbles will be served from 7.30pm at Helen and Peter’s, Ashton Hall, Kelsall Road. Ashton Allotment Association welcomes Gardening Club members during the social evening. We are a group of 14 growers with plots at the end of Willow Hayes. Best described as enthusiasts rather than experts we always welcome visitors and could squeeze a new member or two in if anyone is keen.
